The Courage To Pivot
____________________________________
There’s a saying that change is the only constant in life. As Entrepreneurs, Business Owners, and Leaders, we know this to be true. But knowing it and embracing it are two very different things.
Lately, I’ve been thinking about the weight of change—how it can shake the very foundation of what we’ve built. With shifts in the economy, a new administration, and policies that may directly impact small businesses, we are being asked to pivot in ways we never imagined. The safety nets we once relied on, such as government programs and business incentives, may no longer be there. The market is evolving at a speed that requires us to move with agility, to think ahead, and to be unafraid of shifting gears when necessary.
At JVB Consults, we’ve always believed in strategy, vision, and the power of taking bold but calculated steps. Pivoting is not about abandoning the work we’ve put in—it’s about refining, repositioning, and sometimes reimagining. It’s about recognizing when the road ahead looks different and being willing to adjust our course without fear of failure.
For many, this moment is unsettling. But what if we viewed it as an opportunity instead?
A chance to expand, to innovate, and to create something even more aligned with our long-term vision.
Perhaps the pivot isn’t a setback—it’s an evolution.
So, This Month, I Challenge You To Ask Yourself:
1. Where is my business being called to shift?
2. What opportunities exist within this uncertainty?
3. How can I position myself/team for success, no matter what changes come?
4. What resources or partnerships can help me navigate this pivot?
5. Am I making decisions based on fear, or am I embracing adaptability with confidence?
The answers won’t come all at once, but taking the time to reflect is the first step. Pivoting isn’t about weakness—it’s about strength. And in this season, we are stronger than ever.
Until Next Time,
Be Kind With Yourself. Be Patient With Yourself.
All My Best,
- JVB
